Please watch in HD: www.youtube.com A one man a cappella multitrack render of the barbershop classic “Coney Island Baby”, AKA “Goodbye My Coney Island Baby”, sung by Julien Neel (trudbol). “Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby” is a popular barbershop classic song composed in 1924 by Les Applegate. It is often included in the repertoire of a barbershop quartet. The lyrics are not related to Coney Island directly, but are about a man abandoning his love (whom he apparently met at Coney Island) to avoid marriage, the drudgery of which is lamented in the middle section, often known separately as “We All Fall”. The song was featured in the Simpson’s episode “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”, along with the other classic, “Baby On Board” (in episode #82, from season 5 episode 1, first aired on September 30th 1993). The songs were partially sang by Disneyland’s “The Dapper Dans”, although the series’ normal voice actors can be heard every now and then. Coney Island is a peninsula, formerly an island, in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA, with a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The area was a major resort and site of amusement parks that reached its peak in the early 20th century. It declined in popularity after World War II and endured years of neglect. — LYRICS — Goodbye My Coney Island Baby Farewell my own true love. I’m gonna go away and leave you. Never to see you anymore. I’m goin’ to sail up on a ferry boat, Never to return again. So goodbye, farewell, so long for ever, Goodbye …
Hi! I’m Julien Neel. This is the famous Baby on Board from the Simpsons barbershop episode, sung as an cappella multitrack. Here’s where to get the sheet music: merphant.net/barbershop Lyrics : Baby on board How I’ve adored That sign on my car’s windowpane. Bounce in my step, Loaded with pep, ‘Cause I’m driving in the carpool lane. Call me a square, Friend I don’t care, That little yellow sign can’t be ignored. I’m telling you it’s mighty nice. Each trip’s a trip to paradise With my baby on board. trudbol
