It is often included in the repertoire of a barbershop quartet. The lyrics are not related to Coney Island directly, but are about a man abandoning his love (whom he apparently met at Coney Island) to avoid marriage, the drudgery of which is lamented in the middle section, often known separately as “We All Fall”. The song was featured in the Simpson’s episode “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”, along with the other classic, “Baby On Board” (in episode #82, from season 5 episode 1, first aired on September 30th 1993). The songs were partially sang by Disneyland’s “The Dapper Dans”, although the series’ normal voice actors can be heard every now and then.
