A series of characters from the long-running Fox cartoon, “The Simpsons,” will star in their very own advertisement, entitled “Hard Times,” which will air during Super Bowl XLIV on CBS, Sunday, Feb. 7th.

The legendary “Simpsons” had their genesis on The Tracey Ullman Show starting in 1986 on the then up-and-coming FOX Network. Their story line was split up into four short segments, and shown as “blackout sketches” in between the live-action comedy sketches. This one is called “Football,” written by Matt Groening. Homer throws a football to Bart multiple times and promises all of them “frosty chocolate milk shakes” if he catches it. Very cute.
